There are many discounts that schools can qualify for and sometimes there are special offers too. Below you will find all of them listed for your convenience. Many schools receive multiple discounts! Take some time and explore all the discounts and special offers.
First-Time Discount
If the AstroDome has never been to your school before, that means your school qualifies for the First-Time Discount. This discount entitles your school to $50 OFF.
Loyalty Rewards Program
The Loyalty Rewards Program was created several years ago as a special "thank you" to the many schools that invite the AstroDome Planetarium to come back and visit year-after-year. The Bronze Star Loyalty Reward is available if the AstroDome was at your school last year. The Silver Star Loyalty Reward is available if the AstroDome was at your school last year AND the year before. The Gold Star Loyalty Reward is available if the AstroDome was at your school each of the last three years.

Multi-Student Discounts
You can receive a generous discount when 80 or more students participate in an AstroDome program. The discount starts at 5% and goes all the way up to 25% and all the details appear below.
5% OFF the Admission Fee when 80 to 139 students participate in a program.
10% OFF the Admission Fee when 140 to 209 students participate in a program.
15% OFF the Admission Fee when 210 to 289 students participate in a program.
20% OFF the Admission Fee when 290 to 379 students participate in a program.
25% OFF the Admission Fee when 380 or more students participate in a program.
5% OFF the Admission Fee when 80 to 139 students participate in a program.
10% OFF the Admission Fee when 140 to 209 students participate in a program.
15% OFF the Admission Fee when 210 to 289 students participate in a program.
20% OFF the Admission Fee when 290 to 379 students participate in a program.
25% OFF the Admission Fee when 380 or more students participate in a program.
Absentee Discount
This discount is only available to schools that insist on receiving an invoice in advance.
Unfortunately, not all students will be in attendance on the day the AstroDome Planetarium comes to visit your school. Since many schools want an invoice in advance, the Absentee Discount has been created for these schools as a way of factoring in those absent students.
Since it is impossible to know how many students will be absent on a particular day, a month or many months into the future, the Absentee Discount is really just a "guesstimate" as to how many students will be absent on the day the AstroDome Planetarium comes to visit your school. This discount is based on the assumption that every 20th student will be absent on the day the AstroDome Planetarium comes to visit your school.
Sometimes the Absentee Discount works to the benefit of the school - very few students are absent, but you received a significant discount in advance. Sometimes the Absentee Discount works in favour of the AstroDome Planetarium - many students are absent, but the discount you received (in advance) was not big enough to cover them all. However, over the course of the school year, it more-or-less balances out.
There is one sure way to make certain that the amount your school pays equals the number of students who actually participate in a planetarium program and that is to count all the students before they head inside the AstroDome AND for an invoice to be sent to your school AFTER the school visit. That invoice of course would be based on the ACTUAL number of students who participated in a planetarium program. However, since many schools now insist on having an invoice in advance, this is simply not possible.
Please note that if your school does NOT need an invoice in advance, you will receive the invoice AFTER the school visit. This invoice will be based on the ACTUAL number of students who participated in a planetarium program. Over the course of the day, all the students who are in attendance will be counted, whereas the absent students will not be counted because they're absent! Therefore, since your invoice will be based on the ACTUAL number of students who participated, you do NOT qualify for the Absentee Discount.

Cash Discount
The "Cash Discount" is given to everyone, as long as they DON'T use a credit card.
The following payment methods will receive the Cash Discount...
These days, most schools submit payment via a Direct Deposit, while some schools still send a cheque in the mail. Either way, they will receive the Cash Discount. Every once in a while, some schools will submit payment using an Interac e-Transfer and they too will receive the Cash Discount. These three payment methods all have something in common, and that is, they don't have a transaction fee associated with them. Whereas a credit card, on the other hand, has quite a significant (2% to 3%) transaction fee!
The Cash Discount will appear on your invoice and it will range from 2% to 3% depending on a few variables. By default, the Cash Discount will appear on all invoices. However, if you choose to submit payment via a credit card AFTER your invoice has been created, your invoice will have to be updated. The updated invoice will NOT include the Cash Discount.
