The first solar eclipse will occur on Saturday, October 14, 2023. The second solar eclipse will occur about six month later, on Monday, April 8, 2024. That's TWO solar eclipses during the 2023 - 2024 school year!
From Alberta, approximately 36% to 65% of the Sun will be eclipsed by the Moon (depending on where you are located) during the 2023 solar eclipse. These percentages drop to 15% to 35% (depending on where you are located) for the 2024 solar eclipse.
Some people in Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland will see 100% of the Sun eclipsed by the Moon on April 8, 2024.
