There are many discounts that schools can qualify for and sometimes there are special offers too. For example, if the AstroDome has never been to your school, that means your school qualifies for the First-Visit Discount. This is a $35 OFF discount and there are additional discounts - listed below - that your school may be qualified to receive. Some schools qualify for up to 3 different discounts!
Loyalty Rewards Program
There is also a Loyalty Rewards Program for schools that have the AstroDome Planetarium come back and visit year-after-year. The Bronze Star Loyalty Reward is available if the AstroDome Planetarium was at your school last year. The Silver Star Loyalty Reward is available if the AstroDome Planetarium was at your school last year and the year before. The Gold Star Loyalty Reward is available if the AstroDome Planetarium was at your school each of the last three years.

Multi-Student Discounts
Your school will qualify for a Multi-Student Discount if 84 or more students are scheduled to step inside the AstroDome Planetarium. This discount ranges from 5% OFF to 20% OFF the Admission Fee.
5% OFF the Admission Fee when 84 to 139 students participate in a program.
10% OFF the Admission Fee when 140 to 199 students participate in a program.
15% OFF the Admission Fee when 200 to 279 students participate in a program.
20% OFF the Admission Fee when 280 or more students participate in a program.
5% OFF the Admission Fee when 84 to 139 students participate in a program.
10% OFF the Admission Fee when 140 to 199 students participate in a program.
15% OFF the Admission Fee when 200 to 279 students participate in a program.
20% OFF the Admission Fee when 280 or more students participate in a program.
Absentee Discount
Unfortunately, not all students will be in attendance on the day the AstroDome Planetarium comes to visit your school. Since payment is due on the day of the visit and because invoices and cheques are usually created in advance, your school will almost certainly pay for students who are absent. That is, unless something can be done to counteract this problem. The Absentee Discount has been created to help solve this problem. This discount, which is applied in advance, assumes that 1 out of every 25 students will be absent on the day the AstroDome Planetarium comes to visit your school. So it's like you don't have to pay for every 25th student.

The Absentee Discount is calculated by taking the per student Admission Fee and subtracting the per student Multi-Student Discount (if applicable) and then multiplying that amount by the appropriate number of (anticipated) absent students, as per the table seen here. Example 1:
You have paid an Admission Fee of $6.20 per student for 50 students. There is no Multi-Student Discount in this situation and so the Absentee Discount is simply $6.20 x 2 = $12.40. Example 2: You have paid an Admission Fee of $7.80 per student for 105 students. The Multi-Student Discount (5% OFF) effectively makes the Admission Fee $7.41 per student and so the Absentee Discount is $7.41 x 4 = $29.64 |
